    Who are we?

The Humanities Department explores human culture, history, and expression through subjects like literature, history, philosophy, and social studies by promoting critical thinking, creativity, and cultural understanding throughout the Hempstead School District.

    Our Mission:

To develop foundational skills in early reading to set the stage for academic success by helping children build vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking abilities, fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Early exposure to reading also supports cognitive development, enhances communication skills, and strengthens a child’s ability to understand and engage with the world around them. By encouraging reading from a young age, we empower students to become confident, curious, and well-rounded individuals.
