Jasmin Sowell, Community School Director

  • Dear members of the ABGS Middle School Community,

As many of you know, ABGS has begun our journey toward becoming a community school. A community school is a partnership between school staff, families, youth, and the community to raise student achievement and well-being by ensuring that our youth are physically, emotionally, and socially prepared to learn and thrive. To help us in this important work, we’ve selected FHI 360 as our lead partner. They’ll work collaboratively with our school leadership, staff, and community partners.

In this role, Ms. Sowell will work closely with students and their families to pair them with appropriate supports and interventions. With a BA in Public Administration from Medgar Evers College, a MPA in Policy Analysis and Evaluation from Baruch College, and a long history of managing and directing youth and community programs and services, Ms. Sowell looks forward to applying her knowledge and skills to this critical work. She will be supported by a range of colleagues from FHI 360 who will help address targeted needs and support identified project areas.
