Hello ! My name is Ms. Johnson. I  am proud to be a first grade teacher at the beautiful ,state of the art Rhodes Academy of the Humanities and the Arts. I am also proud to say that my career as an educator spans  three decades.  During my career , I have taught grades Pre-K to fifth.  I have been a member of the Hempstead community for over forty years and can proudly say that I am a graduate of Hempstead High School Nassau Community College and Hofstra University. I have a strong passion for teaching children at the early childhood level. It is extremely gratifying to help  young children with their academic, langauge and social development which will be the foundation of their education.  Not only do I have a passion for teaching children in an academic setting ,but I also have spent decades teaching children in dance and  dramatic arts. I have directed numerous afterschool programs in the arts.  I am currently the director of the Rhodes Academy Dance Troupe and I am currently the owner and Artistic Director of a performing arts center.I strive to create a community of scholars that are well rounded academically and in the arts.

My devotion towards community based causes has led me to become a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. , The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa of African American Educators  and Sisters of the Arts(The Society,Inc.~Supporting the Arts).
