The Hempstead Union Free School District is proud to recognize Autism Awareness Month this April with a focused, districtwide initiative designed to promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of students with autism. Titled “We All Belong Here: Building Understanding, Inclusion, and Respect,” this effort provides meaningful opportunities for all school communities to engage in brief, impactful activities that foster empathy and respect for diverse learners.

Hempstead Public Schools is pleased to announce that Universal Pre-K enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year is now open at Prospect School. This full-day program provides our youngest learners with a strong foundation in a nurturing, engaging, and joyful learning environment.
