Hempstead Adult Education Secures $23,500 in Grant Funding to Launch Digital Jewelry Manufacturing Program

Hempstead Adult Education has secured $23,500 in grant funding to launch an innovative Digital Jewelry Manufacturing Program in February 2027.

The funding includes a $21,500 grant from the Gene Haas Foundation and a $2,000 grant from NYSCATE, both secured by Director of Adult Education Audrey A. Gottlieb. The grants will support equipment, materials, and training needed to provide students with hands-on experiences in digital jewelry design, CAD/CAM, 3D modeling, digital fabrication, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

“This grant provides an exciting opportunity for our students to develop real-world skills in an emerging field that combines creativity, technology, and advanced manufacturing,” Gottlieb said.

The new program will help students develop technical, creative, and problem-solving skills while exploring career pathways in modern manufacturing and design industries. The initiative reflects Hempstead Adult Education's ongoing commitment to expanding innovative Career and Technical Education opportunities and preparing students for future workforce success.
