August Newsletter to the community

Hello Hempstead Family,

I hope this message finds you and your family enjoying a safe, relaxing, and rewarding summer. While August still offers time to recharge and make lasting memories, it also marks the exciting transition toward the beginning of a new school year. Across our District, our dedicated faculty, staff, and administrators are working hard to ensure that every school is ready to welcome our students back to an environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

At the Hempstead Union Free School District, we remain committed to preparing our students not only for today's world, but for the future. As part of that commitment, we are proud to introduce new technology designed to improve communication, increase accessibility, and better serve our families and community.

One of our newest enhancements is the addition of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assistant to the District website. This innovative tool allows families, students, staff, and community members to navigate the website a lot easier and receive immediate information regarding our schools, Board of Education policies, calendars, programs, employment opportunities, registration information, and much more. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the AI Assistant makes it easier than ever to find reliable information regarding the district on the website at www.hempsteadschools.org whenever it is needed.

We are also excited to launch the new Hempstead UFSD Community App, giving our community another convenient way to stay connected. The app provides quick access to District news, upcoming events, school announcements, important documents, emergency notifications, and other valuable resources from your smartphone or tablet. Our goal is to ensure that every family has timely access to the information they need to support their child's educational journey. The mobile app is now available for Apple iOS and Android/Google Play Store devices.

These new resources represent more than technological upgrades; they reflect our ongoing commitment to innovation, transparency, and meeting the needs of the community. We recognize that today's families expect information to be accurate, accessible, and available at their fingertips. By embracing new technology, we are creating stronger connections between our schools and the community we proudly serve.

As we count down the final weeks before students return, I encourage every family to continue preparing for a successful school year. Read together, explore your opportunities to support learning through local outings, establish routines, and take advantage of the remaining days of summer to rest and recharge.

The 2026-2027 school year promises to be one of continued progress, innovation, and opportunity. Together with our students, families, staff, Board of Education, and community partners, we will continue building a school district where every student is empowered to achieve excellence and realize their unlimited potential.
