HUFSD Employee Handbook
Hempstead Public Schools provides the Employee Handbook as a comprehensive resource outlining district policies, procedures, expectations, and employment-related information. The handbook is designed to support employees by clearly communicating standards of conduct, workplace practices, and available resources.
Purpose of the Employee Handbook
The Employee Handbook serves as a guide to help employees understand their rights and responsibilities while employed by the District. It includes information related to employment policies, benefits, attendance, professional conduct, workplace safety, and other important topics.
Use of the Handbook
Employees are encouraged to review the handbook regularly and use it as a reference throughout the school year. While the handbook provides general guidance, it does not replace collective bargaining agreements, Board of Education policies, or applicable laws and regulations.
Updates and Revisions
The District reserves the right to update or revise the Employee Handbook as needed to reflect changes in laws, policies, or operational practices. Employees will be notified of significant updates when applicable.
Questions or Clarification
For questions regarding the Employee Handbook or its contents, employees should contact the Human Resources Department for clarification or additional guidance.
