SchoolMessenger is a centralized communication system that allows Hempstead Public Schools to send:

  • Voice messages (robocalls)
  • Emails
  • Text (SMS) notifications
  • Emergency alerts

Messages are generated directly from our student information system (PowerSchool), ensuring that communications are accurate, current, and delivered to the correct contacts.

Types of Messages You May Receive

Families and staff may receive SchoolMessenger notifications related to:

  • School and district announcements
  • Attendance notifications
  • Emergency or safety alerts
  • Weather-related closures or delays
  • Event reminders and important deadlines
  • Academic and operational updates

Keeping Your Contact Information Updated

Parents and guardians are encouraged to regularly review and update their contact information in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Accurate contact details ensure you receive:

  • Emergency notifications without delay
  • Important academic and school-related updates
  • Districtwide announcements

If you need assistance updating your information, please contact your school’s main office.

Commitment to Clear and Reliable Communication

SchoolMessenger supports Hempstead Public Schools’ ongoing commitment to transparency, family engagement, and operational efficiency. By using one unified communication system, the District ensures that all families receive consistent, timely, and reliable information.
