Responsible Use Policy (RUP)
Purpose
The Responsible Use Policy (RUP) outlines the standards and expectations for all scholars, staff, and families when using the district’s technology resources. Our goal is to promote safe, responsible, and ethical use of digital tools to support teaching, learning, and communication.
Key Guidelines

Digital Citizenship: All users are expected to practice respect, responsibility, and safety when using technology.

Access & Security: District technology, including devices, Wi-Fi, and accounts, must only be used for educational purposes. Passwords and login information must be kept secure.

Privacy & Safety: Users should never share personal information online and should report unsafe or inappropriate activity immediately.

Academic Integrity: Technology must be used to support learning. Plagiarism, cheating, or misrepresentation through digital means is prohibited.

Care of Devices: District-issued devices (such as laptops and iPads) must be handled with care and returned in good condition.
Family & Scholar Responsibilities

Review the RUP presentation provided by the district (available in English and Spanish).

Discuss expectations for safe and responsible technology use at home.

Sign acknowledgment forms confirming receipt and understanding of the RUP.
Compliance & Accountability

Student participation in RUP sessions serves as acknowledgment of the policy.

Misuse of district technology may result in disciplinary action according to the Code of Conduct.
