PowerSchool MyPowerHub for Parents

1. Open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

2. Go to your district’s PowerSchool Parent Portal link or
by visiting https://hufsd.guardian.powerschool.com/

3. Bookmark the page for easy access.

1. On the login page, enter your Username and Password

2. Click Sign In

If you forgot your password, click “Forgot Username or Password?”
and follow the instructions.

1.Click "Create Account"

2.Click the “Create Account” button again on the next screen.

3.Fill in your:

• First Name
• Last Name
• Email Address
• Desired Username
• Password (must be at least 8 characters)

4.Link Your Child to Your Account:

• Enter your child’s name
• Enter the Access ID and Access Password (provided by your child’s school)
• Select your relationship to the child

5.Click "Enter" to finish creating your account.

If you do not have an Access ID or Password, contact your child’s school office.

Once logged in, you will see a menu on the left-hand side. Here's what each section means: 

1. Click your initials (located in the top right)

2. Click "Add Student"

3. Enter the Access ID and Access Password

4. Click Submit

2.Language & Locale Settings

• Select the Language you prefer and click confirm.

1. Click at the top right “SchoolMessenger Inbox”

Click "New Message" and select the teacher you would like to message

• Make sure your contact email is correct for notifications
• Check the app regularly for updates and grades
• Contact your school if you need your Access ID/Password

• Go to the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android)
• Search for: PowerSchool Mobile
• Install the app

1. You will see: “Enter your district code”

2. Type in: DXHC

3. Tap Continue

You should now see: Hempstead Public Schools – Hempstead, NY

1. On the next screen, tap Parent (not Student)

2. This brings you to the Parent Sign In page

1. Enter your Username

2. Enter your Password

3. Tap Sign In

4. After you log in, you may see a screen that says:
“Enable Face ID Login?”

This allows you to log in faster next time using your phone’s face
recognition.

What to Do:

• Tap Enable Face ID → to turn
• OR tap Not Now → to skip

If you forgot your login:
Tap “Forgot Username or Password?” and follow instructions.

2. Fill in:

• Name
• Email address
• Username
• Password

3.Enter your child’s Access ID and Access Password (This information is provided by your school.)

4. Tap Submit/Create Account

Once logged in, you can:

• Overview Tab: on this tab you can view all the data about your child on this page.
• Grades: View Current and past terms grades
• NewsFeed: View any Posts by the school or teachers.
• Assignments: Any upcoming or missing assignments

1.Click on Menu ---> Language & Locale Settings
Select the Language you prefer and click confirm

1. Menu ----> Resource Links
2. Select Standard Based Report Card if your child is in grade Pre K – 5th Grade.
3. Course Based Report Card if your child is in grade 6 –12.
4. The Quarter terms screen will pop up and select the one you would like to see the grades for.

To enable notifications for grades, newsfeed, attendance, calendar, messaging, and fees, please follow the steps below:

Adjust your Notifications (Mobile)

1. From the Menu screen select "Communications Preferences".

2. Be sure to select each person’s name at the top of the screen to adjust Communication Preferences for each person.

3. As you work through each person, work through the following options:

• What info you would like to receive via email (Calendar, Newsfeed, PowerSchool Messaging)
• What you would like to be summarized in email

4. All selections are automatically saved. When completed making selections, click on any other tab on the screen to return.
