Hempstead Public Schools continues to be a thriving center for the arts, celebrating remarkable student achievements and district-wide recognition in music, visual arts, dance, and theatre. Each year, talented students are selected for the prestigious All-County Music and Art programs, a testament to their hard work, creativity, and the strong support of dedicated educators. Students have also earned top scores and accolades at the NYSSMA Solo and Ensemble Music Festivals, showcasing their musical excellence across vocal and instrumental disciplines. In the visual arts, students presented outstanding work at the New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA) Art Portfolio Presentations, where several were recognized for artistic distinction and creativity.

Scholarships awarded to student artists and performers further underscore the quality and impact of Hempstead’s arts education. These accomplishments reflect a district-wide commitment to fostering talent and providing students with opportunities to shine. For the third consecutive year, Hempstead Public Schools has been recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) with the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award, honoring the district’s excellence in music instruction, access, and community support.

In addition to individual honors, the district continues to expand its Dance and Theatre programs, offering students dynamic experiences in movement, performance, and storytelling.
