In kindergarten, your children begin to develop their identities as writers while they build the foundational skills for writing. This year, we will be using the Writers' Workshop model in writing.
Unit 1: Launching the Writer's Workshop
In the first unit, writers begin to draw and write narrative stories.
Unit 2: Writing For Readers
The second unit writers start to add to their drawings, stories and labels to really tell narrative stories.
Unit 3: How To Books- Writing To Teach Others
In the third unit, writers write books and teach readers how to do something.
Unit 4: Persuasive Writing
In the last unit writers write about real life issues and their opinions. They try to fix problems and make suggestions. In this bend writers see how powerful their writing it.
