rapping beat. The following staff were involved in this acting

Hempstead
Fire Department Visit and visit to Kennedy Park |
At ECC, we believe in experience based
learning. Walking trips were conducted by all the classes to the
locations they would simulate. Exposure to the many important
locations throughout the Hempstead Village broadens the students
knowledge base and provides a thorough understanding of their
community. On Tuesday, May 19 and Wednesday, May 20 we will
simulate the Hempstead Community by replicating the many facets
that make Hempstead a dynamic village with many resources. The
students will learn about different landmarks, reinforce their
understanding of directionality, and support their knowledge
base about community. This walking trip and our culminating
theme supports the student understanding of the kindergarten
curriculum (history/geography component).

Family Fun
Day 2009 |
Despite the inclement weather, on
Friday June 5, 2009 ECC had its 1st annual Family Fun Day. This
day was a major opportunity to demonstrate to the ECC Community
at large that ECC cares about the health and well being of our
students and its families. A partnership with ECC, ECC PTA,
Health Plus, LIJ Hospital and the Hempstead Police Department
was forged. We had a carnival with bouncers, snow cones, games
and information booths with a purpose to provide our families
fun, treats and above all comprehensive information about low to
no cost health insurance. Over 50 families signed for health
care and that means our children will not go without medical
treatment due to economic circumstance. Due to the country's
economic situation currently, this problem plagues many
residents and families. Many residents choose to seek medical
treatment in Emergency Rooms which means high costs and mounting
bills to address. We would like to personally thank the Health
Plus Team under the direction of Amun Handa, Carina Vizhnay, and
Josette Pagan, Town Clerk: Mark Bonilla, Hempstead Police
Department :Detective Hamilton and Detective Coleman for Child
Identification Cards. Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Gordon,
