High Schoolers Participate in Cooperative Games
Thanks to a partnership with Hofstra University's Health Professions and Kinesiology Department, more than 100 Hempstead High School Campus students were recently able to learn about the importance of teamwork and physical fitness during the campus's Annual Fall Cooperative Games Class.
During the program, students participated in a host of physical fitness activities that required them to work as a unit in order to succeed, win and have fun. The class, which serves as an extra credit physical education course for the high schoolers, was coordinated by District Director of Physical Education and Health Dr. Robert Cincotta, campus teacher Barbara Intrieri and Dr. Carol Alberts, the Chairperson of Hofstra's Health Professions and Kinesiology Department.
The campus is currently the only one on Long Island to offer such a class in its physical education curriculum for students.
